Hedwig Verdonk (1955-2022)

On 21st May 2022, following an illness, Hedwig died peacefully at home at 10 pm, surrounded by her family.

On 13th June 2022, we celebrated her life at Lauderdale House.

She set up the Tufnell Park Osteopaths in 1998 which has been serving the community here ever since. Her last wish was for the practice to continue.

After studying music, psychology and philosophy at university in Belgium, Hedwig came to London in 1983 to study at the European School of Osteopathy. After qualifying she undertook further postgraduate study in the US, the UK and other European countries in matters concerning paediatrics, musculo-skeletal challenges, learning problems, dental concerns, neurology, trauma, heart and circulation.

Hedwig had extensive teaching experience and had taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the European School of Osteopathy, the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy.

A volunteer for six years with the ground-breaking Osteopathic Centre for Children, founded in 1991, Hedwig had always an interest in treating children and their families. She was also passionate about relieving pain and past traumatic conditions as well as easing emotional difficulties.
